The Elite Torrents domain name seized by the goverment has now had its registration data altered to have FBI contact information. Details are present in the elitetorrents.org WHOIS info, which I've mirrored in the extended entry below (just in case it changes).

"1234 Washington Avenue" doesn't look quite right (and the postal code might be wrong, too).
Yes, the phone numbers are clearly placeholders too.
The postal code 90650 is in California. I think that code is related to where the new site is being run.
If the information is wrong, can't you contact ICANN and steal the domain, or something?
Ha - you want to try? :-)
They never replaced the personal-name placeholders, either, and mapquest doesn't find any 'Washington Ave' in DC, either. (Although, combined, the Admin csz is "Washington DC, WA 90650"...) . . . nor is there a Washington Ave in 90650.
While I suppose it's possible that this was done by someone in the FBI who just didn't know or didn't care what they were doing, it doesn't seem likely. If this were an actual Government action, it would have real names, addresses, etc., or at least fakes that looked plausible. . . . This looks almost more like the kind of thing a spoofer would do just to get the required parts of the form filled in. . .
