Thing is, I honestly haven't seen Jimbo scheduled to speak at any paid function in the past few months. Have you? That summit in Dubai was surely reimbursed for travel and such, but was that a big-ticket payday sort of appearance? Highly doubtful.
Posted by Gregory Kohs at June 27, 2008 01:21 AMWould we necessarily see all paying gigs? Even the corporate ones? I assume this "exclusive" lecture agency taking him on as a featured speaker, means they think they can place him enough times to make it worthwhile.
Posted by Seth Finkelstein at June 27, 2008 05:45 PMThe only reason to hire an agency and pay them 15% is because you can't get gigs on your own anymore. Angelina Jolie doesn't have a rep. She doesn't need one.
Posted by Larry Smithers at June 29, 2008 02:14 AMDo you think that's why they're representing Karl Rove? That doesn't sound right to me. Karl Rove is now in major cash-in mode, with his value at the highest point when he can monetize it (obviously it was higher when he was in the White House, but harder to monetize back then).
